Situated by Bedok Reservoir, Burp Kitchen & Bar is definitely a great place to hang out, unwind and have some ice cold beers with some salted egg wings! Sounds great, am i right?
Burp pride itself with a variety of mainly American/Mexican food, as well as an addition of local favourites like the salted egg dishes which you can find almost everywhere in eateries nowadays. It’s always great to keep up with the local food trend, constantly changing their menu to suit our cravings ! FYI, you get to enjoy dining here without GST and Service charge !
No better way to enjoy some guilt-free air fried chicken wings slathered with savoury salted egg sauce ! Seems like the salted egg yolk trend hasn’t died down a single bit with many cafes & restaurant trying to use salted egg in their dishes. Recommended for salted egg yolk lovers like us!
Tortilla wrap with pulled chicken, cheddar & mozarella cheese served with a side of salsa mexicana. Sweet tomato based dipping sauce complements well with the Quesadillas! We’re sure cheese lovers will love this as well! Although, we felt that there could be more chicken in the filling.
Beef Bulgogi, baby romaine, caramelized kimchi, gochujang aioli with a side of corn chips. Overall, we think the dish had a sweet yet tangy profile which is very palatable. It will be better if the chips had some kind of dipping sauce to enhance its flavour.
Brioche Bun, beef patty, American cheese, bacon, beef chilli, sunny side up and a side of chips. This could very well be a photogenic and instagrammable dish! Expect a runny #yolkporn bursting with flavours as you chomp down the juicy patty!
Charcoal bun, baby romaine, battered soft shell crab, salted egg yolk sauce. Another salted egg yolk dish from Burp. Visually appealing battered soft shell crab with a spread of creamy rich salted egg sauce too, because why not? 🙂
Linguine, carbonara sauce, smoked salmon, chopped bacon, parmesan. The carbonara sauce was unfortunately pretty bland and watery when served. Luckily, the salmon and bacon was the saving grace of this dish. More importantly, this pasta dish really needs some adjustment.
Linguine, olive oil, garlic, dried red chili flakes, grilled shrimp, chopped bacon, parmesan. Honestly, this was much much better than the carbonara ! . We’ve tried many Aglio Olio before that made us perspire more than usual, but this one from Burp is considered milder and should be more acceptable for everyone !
As a cafe & bar, Burp serves a wide range of non alcoholic and alcoholic drinks from coffee to craft brews. Below are some alcoholic drinks they serve.
Kahlua, baileys, espresso, chocolate.
Rum, lime, mint, soda.
Pineapple, milk, coconut.
This cider has a sweet apple flavour with a hint of vanilla and oak.
Finally, a BIG thank you to everyone in Burp for making our TGIF a wonderful one, we will definitely be back in future to try out the other dishes we missed out. For a small cafe & bar like this to serve an extensive menu of food and drinks is no small feat!
